Incentivizing healthy foods could save Medicare and Medicaid more than $100B
Research published in PLOS Medicine estimated that a 30 percent healthy foods subsidy program in Medicare and Medicaid would prevent 3.28 million cardiovascular disease events, save $100.2 billion in formal healthcare costs and help patients gain an additional 8.4 million quality life years.
